Pain Management

We all know that pain can tell us that something is wrong. It is a warning signal that tells us that we have been, or we might become injured. Unfortunately, people can find themselves in a situation where pain changes from a temporary alert system to a persistent condition. Taking the normal steps we are encouraged to do for pain, such as changing our actions, pain medication or trying to push through it, no longer works.

If you have

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Joint pain
  • Rhuematoid Arthritis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Lupus
  • Nerve Injuries
  • Back Problems
  • Migraines

And numerous other conditions, then pain can be constant and overwhelming presence in all aspects of your life. This persistent pain serves no useful purpose – it is just an annoyance.

The production of pain is complex and involves many processes within the body. It is both a body and mind interaction. Pain is a very ‘REAL AND DISTRESSING’ experience for both the sufferer and those closest to them.

Hypnotherapy is helpful in managing and relieving the pain. It helps to control some of the pain pathways in the spine that lead to the pain messages going to the brain. It helps to calm down the brains response to unhelpful information. It also helps in coping with the psychological effects of pain.

I will ensure that you have a good understanding of these mechanisms and what we can do to help manage and cope with them. Through the therapy you will develop a way of coping and find out what things help and don’t help with the pain. By breaking ‘pain cycles’ we can gain a new future that allows you to take the focus away from the pain and back onto you!
